Does Jailbreaking the Iphone, also unlock the Network that it might be tied to ?

Short answer.......no.

Long answer........Ultrasnow can unlock some, if not all, jailbroken phones.

It depends which iPhone you have. However for most models / versions once you jailbreak the iphone you can carrier unlock it.

Like you said.
JAILBREAKING does NOT, of itself, unlock a phone, but will facilitate unlocking by other methods.

You can but in most cases you have to pay for the unlock. It can be done free but it can be fiddly and there is a risk of trashing the device.
The safest and best way is to JB it then use Ultrasnow as rontorbay stated above.

IMO if you only want to unlock the network restrictions you would be better off paying the fee to your provider and getting it factory unlocked that way. It doesn't cost much. Between £10 - £20 ($15 - $30) depending on where you are in the world. That way you eliminate the risk of bricking the device and having to go through the proccess of trying to recover it.
